


Our adventure begins with an early morning departure from Cusco in one of our specially equipped vehicles. We will travel through breathtaking Andean landscapes, crossing inter-Andean valleys, traditional villages, and picturesque farming communities..
During the journey, we will visit the Chullpas de Ninamarca, ancient pre-Inca burial towers belonging to the Lupaca culture. We will then continue to Paucartambo, a charming colonial town famous for its traditions, culture, and historical importance..
Afterward, we ascend to the Acjanaco Pass (3,850 m.a.s.l.), the entrance point to Manu National Park. From here, we begin our descent into the spectacular cloud forest, an ecosystem rich in biodiversity and endemic species..
Along the way, we may observe incredible wildlife such as the Spectacled Bear, the famous Peruvian Cock of the Rock, colorful orchids, bromeliads, ferns, and many other tropical plants..
We will take a nature walk through the cloud forest and have the opportunity to observe the Cock of the Rock’s unique courtship display, a fascinating natural spectacle..

After breakfast, we continue our journey through the lush high forest toward Atalaya Port, located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River (700 m.a.s.l.).
Here, we board a motorized boat and begin our Amazon river adventure. During navigation, we will enjoy stunning rainforest scenery and observe different bird species, including herons, vultures, cormorants, and other Amazonian wildlife.
On the way, we will make a stop at a natural hot spring where you can relax and enjoy a refreshing bath surrounded by jungle.
In the afternoon, we continue by boat until reaching Papaya Eco-Lodge, our jungle accommodation.
Later, we explore Oxbow Lake by small raft, searching for wildlife. At night, we will look for caimans and other nocturnal species that inhabit this Amazon ecosystem.

After breakfast, we begin a guided jungle exploration along rainforest trails. During the walk, we will search for Amazon wildlife, including monkeys, toucans, reptiles, amphibians, and many other species.
After lunch, we prepare for one of the most unique experiences of the trip: visiting the Tapir Clay Lick.
We hike approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour through the jungle, where we may observe colorful birds such as toucans and macaws along the way.
Upon arrival, we reach a special observation platform where we will spend the night in the middle of the rainforest. This camouflage shelter allows us to quietly observe lowland tapirs visiting the clay wall to obtain essential minerals.
The platform is equipped with mattresses, mosquito nets, blankets, and basic bathroom facilities nearby.
During the night, we may also observe other wildlife such as deer, peccaries, guans, and parakeets.

Early in the morning, we return through the jungle trails back to Papaya Eco-Lodge, enjoying the sounds and beauty of the rainforest.
After breakfast, you will have free time to relax, explore the lodge surroundings, or enjoy the peaceful Amazon atmosphere.
After lunch, we begin our return journey by boat toward Bamboo Lodge. The navigation takes approximately 5 hours, offering more opportunities to observe wildlife along the riverbanks and enjoy the incredible landscapes of the Manu rainforest.

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the Amazon rainforest and begin our return journey to Cusco.
We travel back through the beautiful landscapes of the cloud forest and Andes, passing through Paucartambo, the gateway to Manu National Park.
During the journey, we enjoy the changing scenery from tropical jungle to high Andean mountains.
We arrive in Cusco in the afternoon, approximately around 4:00 p.m.
